Paavo Lepistö skateboarding

My name is Paavo Lepistö and I am the creator of Lauta Fingerboards. I have been fingerboarding since 2008 and the brand began as a personal hobby in 2023. I have always enjoyed working with my hands and making small wooden items. For a long time I created bowls, lamps and rings from recycled skateboards in my mother’s garage. When I no longer had access to that space the urge to build things did not disappear.

Fingerboards turned out to be the perfect outlet. They are enjoyable to make, do not require much space and allow me to stay connected to craftsmanship and creativity.

The purpose of Lauta Fingerboards is to support and grow the Finnish fingerboard scene by bringing people together through events, sessions and competitions.

Handcrafted from Finnish Birch Veneers

Birch veneers for fingerboards

All Lauta decks are made by hand in Finland using domestic birch veneers. Every sheet is selected with care and each deck is pressed, shaped and finished individually. The goal is to create a durable deck that feels handmade and authentic.
